Nice, friendly folks at this neighborhood liquor/convenience store that is close to the Ashby BART station. They have liquor, beer, wine, soft drinks, cigarettes, snack food, and a small grocery sections. Well lit, clean, and safe, it has everything you need from a quick stop shop. Plus parking is easy if you're driving. Not sure what time it closes, I think about 9 or 10pm.
